If you need a quick appetizer to bring to a holiday party, this Goat Cheese Dip is perfect! It's made with just a few simple ingredients and takes all of 5 minutes to throw together and everyone will love it. I hope it's a huge hit for you!

As a dietitian, I often get tasked with bringing healthier appetizers and side dish recipes for the holidays. And while I love coming up with more complex recipes like my Roasted Garlic & Butternut Squash Hummus or Hot Honey Whipped Feta, sometimes we all need something to throw together on a whim. And suffice it so say, by the time the actual day comes I am cheffed out from all the recipe testing I've done all month!!
That's where this super easy appetizer comes in. Because there's no cooking or equipment involved. No need to turn on the oven or pull out a food processor. The best part is you can make it ahead of time and have it done so you can focus on getting yourself ready for the gathering!

- Goat Cheese - tangy goat cheese is a soft cheese popular during the holidays. It has a creamy consistent perfect for spreading and is lower in calories than some of the other popular options like Boursin or cream cheese. You can find it near the delicatessen with the other cheeses at grocery stores. Goat cheese also provides some protein, calcium, and phosphorus.
- Fig Jam - an easy way to add just a hint of sweetness for the holidays. If you want spicy, go for hot pepper jam!
- Pistachios - crushed pistachios add nutrition like heart healthy fats, manganese and a little plant protein.
- Optional toppings - a drizzle of something sweet like honey, maple syrup, or balsamic glaze, fresh herbs like thyme, mint or parsley, olive oil, or orange zest of lemon zest.

At the holidays, sometimes keeping things simple is key! Make this nice dip using goat cheese and pistachios for an option that uses more nutritious ingredients than a lot of heavier cheese dips while still enjoying something special!
